The sensors on the top boards presented on this slide differ from the sensors on the boards shown on the previous slide. The pressure sensor board holds an atmospheric pressure sensor typically used for altitude sensing with a resolution of 25 cm. The light and proximity board can be used to measure ambient light and proximity. Such features could be used to implement a motion detection application. It is likely that in the future top boards compatible with the Xplained development board will be provided not only by Microchip, but also major sensor manufacturers.
