The sensor boards on this slide aim at the growing market for inertial sensors. Inertial navigation systems use accelerometers, magnetometers and gyros to calculate the position, orientation and velocity of a moving object without the need for external references. The inertial sensor boards one and two have the same type of sensors, but the sensors are made by different manufacturers and thus have different capabilities. It is not necessary to make changes to the program code to switch between the two top boards. Simply exchange the top board and recompile the application for the new sensor board.
