The dual PHYTER integrates advanced cable diagnostics. Time Domain Reflectometry (TDR) can be used during the installation or provisioning process to detect and isolate faults in the cabling.  Although useful for this purpose, the main limitation with this approach is that it requires the line to be disconnected to provide the information.
