RF Reed Relays Presentation Part 1 Slide 12

Several new parameters need to be introduced when discussing RF continuous wave applications and fast digital pulse applications. For RF continuous wave applications the new set of parameters are: insertion loss, isolation, characteristic impedance, VSWR, return loss, and signal to shield impedance. For fast digital pulse applications rise time and slew rate need to be defined. Insertion loss, isolation, and characteristic impedance are also key parameters in the digital world.
