Smaller AC motors used in home and building applications are powered from single-phase AC 100 V to 240 V and do not require isolated gate drivers. These operate from AC voltages up to 240 V and utilize power devices in the 600 V to 650 V range, such as 650 V discrete IGBTs, 600 V IPMs, 650 V SiC FETs, and 600 V fast-recovery MOSFETs for the motor inverter circuit. Braking circuits employ both 650 V FRDs and 650 V discrete IGBTs.
