In today’s systems measurement, regulation and optimization operations typically rely on cable connected sensors. Signals are sent to a central control station and the sensors are often supplied by one centralized power supply. The need for cables reduces available physical space in a system, limits the possibility of installing additional sensors, and can dictate the possible design of an electronic system.
