In addition to the traditional concept of IoT, there is also the relatively new concept of IIoT, which stands for Industrial Internet of Things. The basic IIoT platform is comprised of sensors that measure the physical world around us: RFID tags that provide traceability, RF or radio frequency modules that transmit and then receive data we measure and analyze, a Cloud system which provides storage and access to the data, actuators that provide a desired action in response to the measured data, and efficient, dispersed power systems.
