The last switch consideration is whether the switch is required to be sealed against water and dust, or whether an unsealed switch will suffice. The industry standard IP rating is used to categorize the amount of seal that the switch will have. An IP54 rating is typical for a general dust seal but is not water or liquid sealed. An IP67 rated switch is common for water ingress and most outdoor applications while IP68 is pressure wash-down rated for food service industries.
