Typical switch configurations for snap switches are listed in this table. Single Pole Double Throw (SPDT) allows for a circuit to turn “off” while switching “on” another circuit. Single Pole Single Throw, Normally Closed (SPST-NC) and Single Pole Single Throw, Normally Open (SPST-NO) allow for single function switching such as only turning a circuit “on” when the actuator is depressed (NO) or opening a circuit when the actuator is depressed (NC).
