Introducing NXP’s SPI Flash Interface, known as “SPIFI”. This module is a unique, patent-pending IP, implemented only on NXP’s Cortex-M line of microcontrollers. This feature allows the user to attach a small serial flash with high density non-volatile memory, to increase the memory scalability of the end application. Serial flash offers benefits over traditional NAND/NOR flash due to its small package size and low I/O count, plus high speed access.
