Littelfuse TVS diode arrays are broken out into three different categories, namely general purpose, low capacitance, and lightning surge protection. The general purpose devices are characterized by higher capacitance in the range of 3.5pF to 30pF and come with many options in package size and number of channels. Protection applications for these devices are for keypads, switches, pushbuttons, audio ports, etc. The low capacitance devices are characterized as having a capacitance value, generally, at or below 1pF. The devices have array options of two, four, and six channels with several small form factor packages. This category is useful in protecting USB2.0, USB3.0, HDMI, DisplayPort, eSATA, etc. The lightning surge devices typically find their home in protecting broadband applications such as 10/100/1000 Ethernet and T3/E3. Their primary intent is lightning protection but each device can also suppress ESD transients from 20kV to 30kV as well.
