Film adhesives have similar properties to paste adhesives, with the added convenience that they are supplied in solid dry films. These materials are much easier to handle, as they minimize waste and control the adhesive bond line thickness. Also, the films can be die-cut or laser-cut into preforms fitting exact design specifications from a customer. One example of a film adhesive is Ablefilm CF3350, which is a silver-filled epoxy film used for high thermal and electrically conductive bonding. It is offered in 10” x 12” sheets or preforms.
