FTDI has brought to market two small, simple to use, generic USB to FIFO bridge device solutions to meet the increasing demand for USB 3.0 in new designs. The FT600Q (768-1251-ND) is a USB to 16-bit wide FIFO solution in a 56-pin QFN package. The FT601Q (768-1252-ND) is a USB to 32-bit wide FIFO solution in a 76-pin QFN package. These devices offer low cost, easy to use “fit and forget” solutions that do not require firmware to be loaded on the devices to make them function. The generic FIFO interface is ideal for mating to programmable logic, whether that be an FPGA or MCU with large IO. The devices are designed as USB vendor class devices and are supported by a new D3xx driver supplied free of charge by FTDI.
