In addition to ICs to support the USB 3.0 standard, FTDI has released four development boards to facilitate rapid development and integration of the devices. Two modules have the FT600Q and two have the FT601Q  IC. The difference being the interface connector is either FMC or HSMC. HSMC connectors are traditionally linked with ALTERA products and the FMC with Xilinx. However, these devices are not limited to ALTERA or XILINX FPGA bus masters. The modules not only include the IC and FIFO bus interface connector, they also have a USB 3.0 micro connector to connect to the USB host, GPIO pin headers, a power connector, indicator LEDs, and a reset and wakeup switch. Also provided to help development are sample codes for Xilinx and Altera to demonstrate a data loopback with the new D3xx API calls.
