It is worth noting that although the physical interfaces support up to 32-bit wide data, the driver API operates on the basis of buffers of data bytes (8-bit). This slide defines how a byte in the user’s application buffer will relate to their physical pins. The first byte relates to pins 7-0, the second byte relates to pins 15-8, the third byte relates to pins 23-16, the fourth byte relates to pins 31-24, and the fifth byte relates to pins 7-0.
