Welcome to EPC’s How to Drive eGaN FETs product training module. This presentation covers the advantages of EPC’s enhancement mode gallium nitride transistors. A key consideration for EPC was designing a product that was easy to use so that engineers could leverage their past design experience to take advantage of the quantum leap in performance improvement that eGaN offers. This module will also explore how to drive eGaN transistors in order to take advantage of those improvements in actual design circuits. To best understand the differences of an eGaN-specific gate drive and a generic MOSFET driver, this module will consider what characteristics an “ideal” eGaN gate drive would have.
