The board pictured here is the T8 Development Kit and is used to familiarize developers with the two smallest Trion® family members. On the board is the T8 in the 81 Ball BGA package, but the board will be useful to work with both the 49 ball and 81 ball derivatives of the T4 and T8. This board is an example of an IO expansion board. There are many headers available for the customer to connect to other development boards or the customers board, by use of fly wires between the headers on the T8 and the “other board”. Using it in this fashion allows the customer to prove out a concept without having to develop a whole new board. There are LEDS and push buttons also available for use when creating designs. Included on the board is an Atmel Microprocessor that helps facilitate programming of the Trion device from the USB connection on the board. Efinix has seen some customers use this board to prove out some processing functions in the FPGA, such as RISC V implementations, so many things can be accomplished with this board.
