Here are some further design examples of Trion® devices acting as a SoC, (System on a chip), and processor offload functions. On the top is one of the smaller devices being used as an IO interface device for the Arm processor, interfacing to those peripherals with some basic processing happening in the FPGA. In the middle is an example showing two Time of flight sensors and a RISCV implementation in parallel to some dedicated FPGA algorithms for the ISP and distance measurement. The parallel resources in the FPGA can process things more efficiently and quickly than a single processor, but with the soft processor you can take advantage of both. The bottom example shows the use of DSP blocks in a noise cancellation application done inside the Trion FPGA.
