From the charts shown it can be seen that both capacitance and ESR vary with temperature. Above 20 degrees Celsius the capacitance increases and ESR decreases giving a greater design margin. Below 20 degrees Celsius the capacitance decreases and ESR increases. Allowances need to be made for these changes in order to ensure the selected capacitor operates correctly over the required temperature range.
