Today’s LED technology is addressing previous adoption issues for LED-based lighting. For example, todays LEDs are providing the right amount of light for many applications, massive energy savings, long-term reliability and better light quality and user experience than CFL lamps. With these issues addressed, adoption of LED lighting can go mainstream if the price of LED lighting is within the right order of magnitude. According to Sterne Agee, LED adoption can increase by 6 to 10 times if the cost of the LED replacement bulb is halved.
