Continuing the comparison of the MLS and MLP, the internal capacitor elements are the same except the MLS is limited to 250V and is one step lower rated voltage than the MLP. The MLS’s stainless case requires that both the negative and positive leads emerge from the case welded to aluminum rivets mounted in rubber grommets. Thus the MLP has slightly lower inductance with its negative lead welded directly to the aluminum top. Although the MLS’s negative lead is not welded to the case, it is electrically connected to the case by bridging of the conductive liquid electrolyte between the case and the capacitor element.
