To create the ATmega128RFA1, Microchip integrated the AVR microcontroller with a low-power 2.4GHz radio transceiver. The device is designed for industrial and consumer IEEE 802.15.4, ZigBee, 6LoWPAN, RF4CE and high data rate 2.4 GHz ISM band applications. The radio transceiver is a true peripheral block of the megaAVR microcontroller. All RF critical components except the antenna, crystal, and decoupling capacitors are integrated on-chip. The ATmega128RFA1 is a true single chip solution and offers the highest system integration and best cost-efficiency. Therefore, the ATmega128RFA1 is particularly suitable for low power wireless applications like wireless sensor networks, industrial control, sensing and automation, residential and commercial automation, healthcare, consumer electronics, and PC peripherals.
