The TMC5062 is a high performance motion controller and driver for up to two stepper motors. It combines two flexible ramp motion controllers with energy efficient stepper motor drivers. The drivers support two-phase stepper motors and offer a set of features including high-resolution micro-stepping, sensor-less mechanical load measurement, load-adaptive velocity and power optimization, and low-resonance chopper operation. A standard SPI™ interface and an optional UART based single wire interface to simplify communication are also featured, as are integrated protection and diagnostic features to support robust and reliable operation. High integration, high energy efficiency, and small form factor enable miniaturized designs with low external component count for cost-effective, highly competitive solutions. When compared to the TMC5031, the TMC5062 offers a slightly higher supply voltage range (20 V rather than 16 V) and additional dcStep functionality. Optional encoder inputs are provided for monitoring and checking of the motion for applications where increased reliability is desired.
