As the PCB-layout is critical to performance, special care should be taken. In the motor driver circuitry, highly sensitive analog signals are close to high-current motor and gate current tracks, therefore care should be taken for the component placement. A 100 nF filter capacitor should be placed as close as possible to the VSA pin, to the ground plane. The motor supply pins, VS, should be decoupled with an electrolytic capacitor (47 μF or larger is recommended) and a ceramic capacitor, placed close to the device. Take into account that the switching motor coil outputs have a high dV/dt., capacitive stray into high resistance signals can occur if the motor traces are near other traces over longer distances.
