Product List
The engineer will provide a brief overview of the important factors to keep in mind when selecting power management devices to power advanced processors. Certain FPGA families may require special attention to certain aspects of the design, and this overview will highlight key concepts and show how to discern whether a power device is suitable for performance processors. Once the power management device features are determined, it is important to figure how much current is required by the FPGA. Xilinx has a tool to help designers estimate the required current depending on the usage case of each FPGA. TI’s WEBENCH designer can also estimate the current requirement. Texas Instrument has also built and tested power reference designs, and these designs will be featured for Xilinx’s latest Series 7 FPGAs. There are many DC/DC converters to choose from, and the engineer would like to briefly introduce the latest devices for powering the latest FPGAs, and show designers where to find other options.
