The combination of improved technology, silicon and package results in a higher performance device. On the graph, the red curve is an efficiency curve using the power block device. The Power Block is over 2% more efficient above 13 A when compared to TI’s own discrete  NexFET MOSFETs, the CSD16404 and CSD16321.  Devices with similar RDSON and switching characteristics were chosen so the benefits of the power block could be illustrated. Not only does the power block only take half the space of two discrete devices but the power block also achieves higher efficiency than the discrete solution.
