The 14 and 20-pin DIP target socket supports all MSP430 Value Line devices, allowing users to drop in or pull out various MSP430 devices for quick programming and debugging. The target socket also grants users additional flexibility, as users can either leave the MSP430 device plugged in to use the LaunchPad as a complete stand-alone system, or unplug the MSP430 from the LaunchPad to be dropped into a custom PCB or breadboard. The LaunchPad includes two MSP430G2xx devices in the box: MSP430G2211 (featuring integrated comparator) and MSP430G2231 (featuring 8ch 10-bit ADC).
