The LaunchPad was created to be a simple and thorough introduction to the world of microcontrollers and MSP430. A place where TI, the MSP430 team, and customers can come together and create solutions. At the ti.com/launchpadwiki, TI has created a community that makes it easy for anyone to share solutions and ideas. Today, the wiki is home to starter code, complete open source projects, complete open source hardware design files, as well as documentation. Also on the wiki are links to free and unrestricted IDEs from TI’s CCS and IAR’s embedded workbench. These are unrestricted versions that will work fully with any of the G2xx value line devices that are available today. Finally, the LaunchPad provides added scalability, since code generated on the LaunchPad with TI’s value line MCUs, can be migrated to the rest of the MSP430 portfolio. This scalability provides a seemless migration path for quick adaptation to evolving design requirements, especially in fast moving markets such as consumer electronics, industrial, and safety.
