To determine the amount of data that a data converter can handle, the resolution is multiplied by the sampling frequency. Using the example here, a 12-bit converter running at 100ks/s will have 1.2Mb/s of data throughput. This should be taken into consideration when determining the interface, digital logic, and other processing devices in the system.
