NSP-25 Non-Silicone Putty Introduction Slide 2

The development of advanced thermal management materials for Electronic Control Units (ECU) is the key to achieving high reliability for applications such as automotive and power systems. As these are often critical devices, it is essential that they function over a long life time and are as economical as possible. Thermal management issues associated with the operation of ECUs at elevated temperatures have accounted for some of the recent reliability concerns and system failures in automotive systems. The life expectancy of electronic components reduces exponentially as the operating temperature rises. As a result, thermal management is pivotal in electronic system reliability. Since ECUs provide many of the essential safety features for automotive units, it is essential that they work in a reliable and predictable manner. This is one of the key criteria for thermal management and this module will demonstrate how to achieve this with the lowest total cost of ownership possible.
