Power Inductor Basics Slide 6

The Henry (H) was named after the American scientist Joseph Henry (1797-1878) who discovered the principles of electromagnetic induction (around the same time Michael Faraday (1791-1867) did in England). 1 Henry describes the electromotive force of 1 Volt resulting from a change of current in a circuit at the rate of 1 Ampere per second.
