The challenge was previously presented to control the current in a stepper motor. Thanks to dSPIN, easySPIN, and powerSTEP01, this is no longer such a challenge; it is in fact easy. When an engineer designs a stepper motor driver, the various challenges are the timing of the decays, if slow or fast decay must be applied, and the parameters that depend on the Back EMF, related to speed and torque. This has an impact on the frequency of the PWM and if not properly performed can create a power dissipation issue. All these interleaved parameters can be very challenging for creation of the code for the microcontroller. The new easySPIN and dSPIN greatly simplify the design process.
