Solutions for Motion Control PowerSTEP01 Pt 1 of 2 Slide 15

The block diagram of the L6470, called dSpin for digital spin, is shown on this slide. This block diagram is similar to all of the family, including the powerSTEP01, it integrates a dual H-bridge, dual thermal protection (one warning and one shut down), and over current protection. Major innovations particular to the dSpin are a voltage control mode that allows a true 128 µsteps, the voltage mode does not monitor the current in the bridge; hence, it is a not dissipative current sensing design, and the capability to program the position and the speed profile of the motors.
