The need for environmental sensors is exploding and STMicroelectronics is excited to offer key sensor technologies to help enable the market. ST is expanding their environmental sensors roadmap, thanks to some key initiatives inside the company. The goal is to enable creativity for designers, which in turn enables the motivation and flexibility to create new applications which have not been considered prior to this new wave of sensors. They are riding the next MEMS wave in key market segments such as wearable and mobile applications, the always connected Internet Of Things, and even traditional applications such as consumer and light industrial. With more than three billion MEMS motion sensors sold in the market to date, and ST’s core competency of manufacturing and development, ST is enabled by complete control of the design and production processes, including silicon fabrication, packaging, and factory calibration.
