Environmental Sensors Roadmap Slide 12
The next generation local digital temperature sensors is very versatile. As customers upgrade existing platforms, they may be able to replace local digital temperature sensors purchased from various suppliers with the STTS751, which offers high levels of accuracy (±1°C max from 0°C to 85°C) with low operating voltages, down to 2.25 V, in smaller outline packages. It is designed to support emerging applications by delivering features such as: programmable A/D conversion rates and bit resolutions from 9 to 12 bit; two open drain alarm pins, simultaneous interrupt to a host IC and thermostat over-temperature alarm to a fan driver or LED; one-shot mode for power saving, allows a host IC to request the STTS751 to wake up (from a sleep mode) and take a temperature measurement; low standby currents typically 3 µA at nominal Vdd; and SMBUS 2.0 timeout and Alert Response Address (ARA) features are supported; single dual function address/ thermostat pin allows user to create up to four slave addresses per part type by connecting a recommended pull-up resistor between this pin and power supply Vdd pin. The STTS751 is available in two part types: STTS751-0 and STTS751-1 to enable up to 8 distinct addresses, in tiny 6-pin SOT23 and UDFN packages for applications where space is critical.
