This page illustrates the relationship between the dynamic range and the total range of measurement. The total operating range is 60 PicoFarads, the green window, with the actual dynamic range window of the device, the gray window, at 7.5 PicoFarads in 512 steps of 15 FemtoFarads. With the new Auto-Tuning feature, rather than having to manually position the dynamic range inside the total measuring range, the device will automatically position the dynamic range window within the 30 PicoFarad auto-tuning window (indicated in yellow). This is one of the most significant improvements of the newer S-Touch products when compared to the older devices.
