In STMicroelectronics’ S-Touch portfolio there are two different kinds of sensing technology: “capacitive”, for implementation of touch keys; and “resistive”, as it applies to LCD screens. These two solutions are complementary and designers are encouraged to explore both to find out what will work best for the application at hand. ST also has solutions that are based on micro-controllers. This module will focus on the S-Touch family, specifically the capacitive touch products.
