In some applications, analog switches are at the interface between a low voltage ASIC and a higher supply voltage component. In order for the switch to be activated properly, a voltage translator (or level shifter) is typically used on the select pin to ensure the minimum activation threshold is met. NXP analog switches offer a complete family of devices that integrate the translator function, thus saving part count, PCB space, and lowering overall system cost.
