Microchip’s first PIC18 J Series products with nanoWatt XLP low power are the PIC18F46J11 general purpose family and the PIC18F46J50 USB family. Both of these families include deep sleep mode for current consumption down to 20nA. These 28 and 44-pin products feature the peripheral set of a typical 80 pin device, while the Peripheral Pin Select (PPS) lets a designer choose which peripherals are needed. Other new features include the Charge Time Measurement Unit (CTMU) peripheral for cap touch or precise time measurements as well as a hardware Real Time Clock and Calendar which even functions in Deep Sleep mode for flexible wake-up times. These products also include a high precision internal oscillator enabling USB applications to function without an external clock source.
