Fortunately, the China requirements mirror very closely the aforementioned ITU recommendations. There may be some small differences, but compliance with the appropriate ITU recommendations as listed here should show 99% compliance with the specific YD/T requirement. The IEC ESD & EFT test conditions are accepted by most international standards, recommendations, or regulatory requirements around the world. The IEC 61000-4-5 provides some slightly different surge resistibility requirements with five defined classes given. Each class has unique surge generator and voltage/current levels defined for specific applications. The table on the next slides provides this information. The TIA-968-B, formerly known as FCC Part 68, provides the compliance requirement for ANY equipment connected to the PSTN (Public Switched Telephone Network) in the USA.
