This is the block diagram of the 6EDL7141. This device interfaces through several points with the microcontroller, battery, and the 3-phase inverter. The microcontroller communicates with the 6EDL7141 via an SPI interface, which enables its configuration. At the same time, the microcontroller provides PWM signals to the gate drive control pulses which can be decoded in several different ways. The 6EDL7141 provides configurable gate drive pulses to the low- and high-side MOSFETs of the 3-phase inverter. Furthermore, this device can send protection signals and current measurements via the digital or analog microcontroller inputs.
