The internal oscillator is another way NXP implements ultra low power. The oscillator is designed to consume less than 1uA of current. Additionally, both the internal regulator and oscillator enable fast start up from stop modes - typically within 6 to 7 microseconds. The low power real time counter is an 8-bit modulus counter that has a binary or decimal based prescaler. This counter can be used in all run, wait, and stop modes including the low power run and wait modes.
