The presentation will now discuss some VLSI device trends, covering a few types of devices and their attributes from a power perspective. The first of these are FPGAs. Many of these devices already specify dynamic power supply control and requirements for slew rate control and sequencing of the rails. Partial reconfiguration and the powering down of unneeded sections often requires turning on and off power rails. Accuracy of the applied voltages can be 1% or better and voltages can be 0.7V or lower.
