In summary, the PowerXR implementation allows from three to as many channels as are required. Wide input range, single input supply voltage and multiple software controlled output voltages along with complete characteristics of each channel are controlled and monitored by under system software control. Many features and functions are available to the user while allowing software programmable multi-channel power implementation. The actual design process from a hardware, software and systems perspective is actually quite easy. In the past, systems have been designed using the benefits of field programmable gate arrays, field programmable microcontrollers and microprocessors; PowerXR solutions allow the user to have field programmable power systems. This will ease design challenges and meet the growing needs and demands of VLSI devices as geometries decrease and integration of more systems on a chip increase.
