Active Output Discharge intentionally drives all components connected to the output of the power switch to ground. This is to quickly remove intermediate voltages so the state of downstream components will be well defined. The discharge feature can be used to sequence the events in subsystems eliminating conflicts and poorly defined operations. Load Switches with discharge will have a path from VOUT to ground, so use caution with devices connected to VOUT that would be adversely effected by this ohmic connection to ground.
