An actual design for a Smartphone using CapSense MBR solution is presented on this slide. The key challenges posed in this design are to replace expensive IR sensors for face detection and to ensure robust performance in noisy conditions or in presence of mist and rain. CapSense MBR uses proximity sensing to enable face detection, thereby replacing the expensive IR sensors. It also works properly in all noisy conditions and enables water tolerance feature using shield electrodes.
