SmartSense auto-tuning saves design effort and time. This slide features a comparison of a normal design cycle (which requires manual tuning) vs. a SmartSense design cycle for a capacitive button system. As can be seen, SmartSense sets, monitors, and continuously maintains optimal capacitive button performance. It reduces design effort by eliminating manual tuning and adapts to variations in PCB, overlay, paint, and manufacturing that can degrade capacitive button performance. SmartSense adapts to changes in system environment due to RF noise sources and allows for a platform design approach with different overlays, button shapes, and trace lengths.
