key rugged

Like all of VersaLogic’s rugged x86 compatible embedded computers, the BayCat is designed, manufactured, and tested to be reliable in critical and demanding environments. These environments include extreme temperatures, high shock, excessive vibration, and high humidity. It has gone through a strict component selection and evaluation process, worst-case stress testing, state-of-the-art compliance and validation testing of all high-speed signals, verification of the external interfaces, and extensive power and four-corner thermal testing. All VersaLogic products have been through the most stringent validation testing before they take on a customer’s application. The BayCat is powered by a 4th generation Intel ATOM processor.  Formerly known as Bay Trail, this processor is performance optimized for lower power consumption and compatibility with the broadest range of x86 applications and development tools to ensure reduced system cost and development time. There are three different CPU options designed to fit designers price and performance goals.  They range from single-core to quad-core processors. All the processor models are equipped with Intel’s advanced performance capabilities. There are several other Intel technologies built in to the CPU including Virtualization, new AES Instructions, and Intel 64 architecture. The BayCat supports an SO-DIMM memory socket that allows up to eight Gigabytes of total memory. This memory space helps to support demanding applications such as data mining, data buffering, and data logging.
