The BayCat is ideal for embedded applications needing a Single Board Computer to be ultra-reliable and have a long production life. In addition it comes equipped with multi core processing options, security features, numerous high-speed interconnects, as well as flexible expansion and storage options. The BayCat is the second flavor of the VersaLogic PC/104 form-factor products with a Bay Trail CPU. The first product is the highly successful Bengal (VL-EPMe-30) that has a PCIe/104 OneBank expansion bus. The OneBank bus provides newer PCIe signal expansion. In contrast, the BayCat has the more traditional PC/104-Plus expansion buses: PCI and ISA. The PC/104-Plus expansion allows access to the full ecosystem of legacy expansion I/O cards.
