Customers develop on a TI DSP because they want innovation in software with the latest imaging algorithms which drive superior image quality, enabling real-time diagnosis. Since TI’s DSPs are programmable, they provide system design flexibility and make upgrades easy. The single and multi core products have the performance and low latency architectures to meet the demands of embedded processing for ultrasound up to twenty four GMACs today, and in the near future there will be devices that offer even greater performance, floating-point capability, and higher bandwidth I/Os. DSPs also enable portability, longer battery life, and smaller form factors. The SOC products shown earlier provide various efficient performance per mW plus they can run popular operating systems and have a very rich peripheral and graphics co-processors on chip, enabling customers to replace power-hungry PCs with low power SOCs available from TI. These products are code-compatible so the code blocks can be reused across platforms to save money and time. Finally, using the tools such as TI’s SOC software framework, the DSP libraries, our medical software toolkit, and a growing number of third party resources enables customers to get to market more quickly.
